Difficile à croire, mais ce manchot est bel et bien dans l'eau. Les conditions lumineuses sont impossibles, il est très compliqué de prendre de bonnes photos. Voici une de mes meilleurs tentatives

Biodôme de Montréal

Maybe hard to believe, but this penguin is in the water. Very bad light makes it almost impossible to get a shot. This is one of my best attempt.

@Marion: Thanks. It's behing a thick glass, as you can imagine. On the other side, it's Artic Cold (I believe it's minus 30 degress or something).

Belle photo et j'aime le mouvement ici... qui donne de jolies tonalités...
Bravo car je sais que les conditions d'éclairage sont vraiment difficiles dans ces lieux...

@zOOm: Oui, tu as raison : les conditions lumineuses sont épouvantables. J'en étais presque prêt à laisser tomber... mais bon, avec un ISO plus élevé et un peu de bonne volonté, on finit par arriver à un semblant de résultat, ce qui est toujours mieux que rien! @Kylie Greenan: I've read somewhere that they usually swim around 5 ~ 10 km/h, but can peak up to 30 km/h. Impressive!

It's a great motion capture! You have actually turned a weakness into a strength - I think the pic strongly resembles a painting, maybe a little impressionistic in style. The muted colors are very effective.

@Ken McCoy: Thanks for your good words, Ken. I really wasn't sure if I should post this one or not, for it's not up to my technical minimal specs (I'm not trying to say I'm oh! so good, but I think I have a somewhat strong technique). And I tend to be a bit hard on myself when technique is not at a certain level. Anyway, what I'm trying to say is that maybe I need to sometimes give up a bit technical spec to favor a more artistic approach? So much questions, so little ansers. Am I sane, doctor? (joking, here!) Thanks again for your words, it makes me feel better about this particular picture!
